Benefits of Adoption

Adopting a cat can be one of the most rewarding experiences for pet lovers. In addition to providing a loving home for a furry companion, adopting a cat offers numerous benefits for both the cat and the adopter. In this blog post, we’ll explore some of the top benefits of adopting a cat.

  1. Improved mental health: Studies have shown that owning a pet, particularly a cat, can have a positive impact on our mental health. Spending time with a cat can help to reduce stress, lower anxiety levels, and boost moods.

  2. Increased physical activity: Cats are naturally curious and playful creatures, and they can encourage their owners to engage in physical activity through play. This can help to improve overall health and fitness.

  3. Cost savings: Adopting a cat from a shelter is often less expensive than purchasing a cat from a pet store or breeder. Shelters also typically provide cats with necessary vaccinations and medical care, reducing the upfront costs for adopters.

  4. Companionship: Cats make wonderful companions and can offer comfort, love, and support to their owners. For those living alone, a cat can provide much-needed companionship and social interaction.

  5. Save a life: By adopting a cat, you’re giving a homeless pet a second chance at life and making room for another animal in need. This can make a huge difference in the life of a cat, as well as the lives of other animals waiting for their forever homes.

  6. Improved physical health: Owning a cat has been linked to improved physical health, including reduced blood pressure and a lower risk of heart disease. Spending time with a cat can also help to lower stress levels and promote relaxation.

  7. Increased sense of purpose: Adopting a cat can bring a sense of purpose and fulfillment to our lives, as we become responsible for the well-being and happiness of another living creature.

In conclusion, adopting a cat is a wonderful way to bring joy, companionship, and purpose into our lives. Whether you’re looking for a new best friend, or simply want to make a difference in the life of a homeless pet, adopting a cat is a decision you won’t regret. So, consider adopting a cat today and experience the many benefits of cat ownership for yourself!

Frequently Asked Questions

At Fur Ever Home Cat Sanctuary, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our feline residents. For this reason, we do not publicly disclose our physical address in order to prevent unplanned drop-offs. Our sanctuary operates at its current maximum capacity, which means we are providing care for a significant number of cats. While we have space available for more cats and would love to help every feline in need, we are dependent on the support of our community to ensure we can provide proper care for each feline in need.

It is also important to note that Fur Ever Home Cat Sanctuary is specifically designed to provide a safe haven for unadoptable cats and those unlikely to survive in the wild. Many of our feline friends come from local humane societies that have determined them to be unadoptable and at risk of euthanasia.  We are grateful for your understanding and encourage you to join us in our mission to give these cats the life they deserve.

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we have received tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This means that when you contribute to our cause, your generous donations may be deductible from your taxable income, potentially reducing the amount of taxes you owe. Your support not only helps provide care and shelter for our feline residents but also comes with the added benefit of potential tax savings. We recommend consulting with a qualified tax professional to understand the specific guidelines and requirements for claiming tax deductions on charitable donations. Thank you for considering supporting our sanctuary and for making a difference in the lives of these precious cats.

Our spacious sanctuary is composed of a total of 4 sections that have unique fencing to help keep our felines in and predatory wildlife out.  The exterior perimeter is also equipped with an electric fence to prevent larger predators from digging under the fencing.

New cats are kept in segregation until they have been spayed/neutered and received any needed veterinary care before being released into our larger areas.  Care takers live on site at the sanctuary and feed, clean sand boxes, and visit with the cats multiple times daily.  In addition to our live stream we also have extensive additional security camera coverage around our facility and gated entrances into it.
